Guided Walking Tours in Schwerin and Tickets - Touristinformation

Facts and Follies: Do you want to know the troubled story of the “Buttocks Parade”? Get closer to the history of Schwerin on one of our regular guided tours. Tickets for all guided tours are available at the TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRE.

Usually the tour is held in German language. Several tour guides speak English or other languages as well and will be able to translate. The staff of the tourist-information can tell, if the tour guide for the day speaks English.

See everything in one go: the public guided walking tours start every day at 11 am. They take you from the Market Square to the mighty Cathedral, across the Old Garden Square to Schwerin Palace. The tour ends at the State Museum, where two of the paintings on display will be explained in detail.

Tour with the Night Watchman

As soon as sunset has arrived, Schwerin’s night watchman will take you on a tour of the historic city centre by night. Equipped with a lantern and his historic robe, he’ll introduce you to the secrets of his daily walks and tell you about life in the former ducal residency.

When? May to September: every Friday and Saturday at 20.30. October to April: every Friday at 18.00.

UNESCO World Heritage Application Tour

The application has been made. Now Schwerin, the former ducal residency, is hoping to be listed as one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. This tour shows you around the sights that are part of this great proposal, including the Palace, the Theatre, the Museum, the government buildings, churches and functional buildings.
